October Coffee drop: LA LOMITA BOURBON
Did you hear?! Our October specialty coffee drop has officially landed!
“La Lomita” was produced by Jenner Villatoro, a 4th-generation coffee producer from La Liberta, Guatemala.
The farm where this coffee was grown and harvested is called Finca Villaure, and this property has been in Jenner Villatoro’s family for generations. Villatoro’s ancestors road up to the farm on the back of a donkey(!), more than 80 years ago (!!). To say that coffee producing is in Jenner’s blood is basically an understatement at that point. His history and hard work is evident in every cup of “La Lomita”, and we know that you will relish drinking this drop and learning more about Jenner Villatoro.
When we cupped “La Lomita”, we tasted peach, banana, cream, and floral notes. The attributes of this coffee are bright, sweet, and a nice delicate acidity. This is a really great introductory coffee into specialty coffee, because it can truly be appreciated by everyone. If you’re just starting out trying specialty coffees, we definitely recommend this drop. The taste of “La Lomita” is not too intense, but it has great nuanced flavor. If you are more into specialty coffee, this drop is good for you, too! The coffee has a washed, double ferment process method. A more experienced coffee drinker can subtly taste the farming and processing practices Jenner Villatoro used in this coffee.
